Rehabilitation Works on Francisco Medina Ascencio Avenue Near Completion in Puerto Vallarta

Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco — The ongoing rehabilitation efforts on the east side of Francisco Medina Ascencio Avenue are nearing completion, with the Jalisco Secretariat of Infrastructure and Public Works (Siop) reporting a progress rate of 75 percent. The project, which commenced in the latter half of this year, is expected to reach completion by the end of September or the beginning of October.

The current focus of the rehabilitation is on the section between Los Tules Avenue and the Luis Donaldo Colosio bypass, located in the Día Ordaz neighborhood. Additionally, work is progressing on the lateral road from the Luis Donaldo Colosio bypass to Brasilia Street, adjacent to the Agustín Flores Contreras Sports Unit. This area, situated in the Lázaro Cárdenas neighborhood, borders the 5 de Diciembre neighborhood and is in close proximity to the city center.

The rehabilitation project, which began earlier this year, is following an estimated schedule of 150 days. Siop has assured that the timeline remains on track, with completion anticipated by late September or early October.

However, the ongoing construction has significantly impacted local traffic. The area has been experiencing long lines of vehicles, particularly during peak hours, resulting in slowed traffic and affecting thousands of motorists daily. The congestion has prompted concerns among residents and commuters, who are eager for the completion of the project to restore normal traffic flow.

The rehabilitation of Francisco Medina Ascencio Avenue is part of a broader effort to improve infrastructure and enhance transportation in Puerto Vallarta. The project aims to facilitate smoother traffic movement and provide a safer and more efficient route for residents and visitors alike.

Local authorities are urging motorists to remain patient and consider alternative routes where possible. Updates on the progress of the project and any changes to traffic patterns will continue to be communicated to the public to minimize inconvenience.

The completion of this project is highly anticipated, as it promises to alleviate traffic congestion and improve accessibility in one of Puerto Vallarta’s busiest areas. Residents and businesses in the vicinity are looking forward to the benefits that the improved infrastructure will bring to the community.
