Area tourism ministries reject closures at Marietas Islands

The Tourism Ministries of Puerto Vallarta, State of Jalisco, and Riviera Nayarit disagree with the decision to close 'Love Beach' at the Marietas Islands for coral regrowth and allow time for environmental rebound.

Ludwig Estrada, Regional Director of Tourism, stated there is an agreement to control the number of visitors each day and better management of the islands but all National Parks should remain open and can do so while also protecting the environment.
