The Vallarta Nayarit Gastronómica culinary event will celebrate its 14th edition. Each of the annual events have been special; however, this year will be the first full return to face-to-face events after the modifications that were suffered after the start of the Covid-19 pandemic.
This 14th edition takes sustainability as its central theme, due to the urgency to take this factor into account not only in the gastronomic, hotel, and tourist industries but also in the decisions of daily life.
With sustainability as the guiding axis of Vallarta Nayarit Gastronómica 2022, the culinary event will take place from October 12 to 18, extending its activities for the first time to a full week of activities that will show attendees not only the taste of the region but the great cultural and tourist offer of these destinations.
The venue will be the Sheraton Buganvilias Hotel in Puerto Vallarta, which serves as a bridge between the most relevant actors in the gastronomy and tourism industry, invited states and countries, as well as a privileged list of chefs, mixologists, bartenders, sommeliers, experts in sustainability in their different subjects, professionals and outstanding speakers.
As part of the Vallarta Nayarit Gastronómica 2022 program, there will be live cooking demonstrations, wine and spirits tastings, gourmet workshops, and master conferences by experts.
The issue of sustainability will be addressed from the opening keynote address by Joxe Mari Aizega, General Director of the Basque Culinary Center, one of the world’s most prestigious gastronomy centers in San Sebastian, Spain. As well as a large panel with leading experts in fishing, livestock, and deforestation, among other topics, to echo the actions that must be taken in the face of some problems.
Another of the great attractions, like every year, will be the exhibition area, where you can learn about and taste the cuisine of the different states of Mexico, and the guest country of Spain.
Vallarta Nayarit Gastronómica 2022 will be a parade of culinary talents, with national and international guests such as chef Dominique Crenn, Mexican chef Daniela Soto-Innes, chef Diego Gallegos, holder of the Green Star for sustainability, chef Kisco García and Carlos Gaytan, the first Mexican chef to receive the Michelin Star.
Likewise, members of the 50 Best list will include chefs Gerardo Vázquez Lugo and Pablo Salas, and Handshake Speakeasy Mexico bartenders: Eric Van Beek and Javier Rodriguez, second-place holders of North America’s 50 Best Bars list, among many other exponents of gastronomy.
