All Weather Alerts for Hurricane Beatriz in Puerto Vallarta Have Expired

PUERTO VALLARTA (PVDN) – Following the passage of tropical depression “Beatriz” along the Jalisco coast, a State Emergency Committee for Civil Protection meeting was held this afternoon, led by Secretary General of the Government, Enrique Ibarra Pedroza. 58 public servants from all three levels of government, alongside representatives of the Jalisco Congress, the University of Guadalajara, and civil society organizations were in attendance.

During the meeting, CONAGUA Delegate Ernesto Romero and Director of Civil Protection, Víctor Hugo Roldan, announced the status of the weather phenomenon, which dissipated from a Category 1 hurricane to a tropical depression as it passed through Jalisco.

Miraculously, “Beatriz” left no trace of damage on the Jalisco coast. Throughout Friday night and Saturday morning, work groups from state, federal, and municipal agencies were deployed to areas potentially affected. Thankfully, “Beatriz” lost its strength before making landfall in Jalisco. Its passage resulted only in light to intermittent rain showers.

Minor issues such as small landslides of solid material and fallen trees were reported on federal highways 80 and 200, but were immediately addressed by UEPCJ officials, causing no impact to vehicles or individuals.

The commander of the UEPCJ, Víctor Hugo Roldán, confirmed that the state command will maintain their prevention and surveillance tours along the coastal areas, riverbeds, and vulnerable points to ensure the safety of all residents.

The Government of Jalisco expressed gratitude for the swift and coordinated response from all involved authorities. Representatives from several state and federal agencies, including the Ministry of Public Security, Jalisco Secretary of Education, Health Secretary, and more, participated in the emergency committee meetings.

The representatives of various municipalities, such as Guadalajara, Zapopan, Tomatlán, Cihuatlan, and Vallarta Port, among others, were present.

The public is urged to remain informed through official channels and to avoid misinformation. In the event of an emergency, residents should dial 911 or their local Civil Protection and Fire Department number.
