Infrastructure Upgrades to Cause Temporary Water Supply Disruptions in Puerto Vallarta

Residents in several neighborhoods of Puerto Vallarta will experience temporary water supply disruptions due to ongoing modernization and improvement work on the municipality’s drinking water infrastructure. The interruption in water supply is scheduled to occur on Tuesday, January 16, 2024.

The project, which is part of the Municipal Government’s efforts to enhance the region’s infrastructure, includes hydraulic concrete paving work on Federación Avenue. In coordination with this project, SEAPAL Vallarta, the city’s water utility, will be conducting essential interconnection work on new water lines.

The Drinking Water Distribution department’s teams will be responsible for making four pipe junctions, with two located at the intersection of Federación Avenue and Víctor Iturbe Street and two more at the intersection with Congreso de la Unión. This collaboration between SEAPAL Vallarta and the Municipal Government aims to ensure the efficiency and reliability of the drinking water supply in the long term.

The scheduled work will lead to a temporary interruption in drinking water supply, lasting for approximately 24 hours, beginning at 9 am on Tuesday, January 16. The affected neighborhoods include Coapinole, Brisas del Coapinole, Lomas del Coapinole, El Calvario, La Floresta, Bobadilla, Loma Bonita, Morelos and Pavón, Hipódromo, El Conejo, and Lisbon Subdivision.

Due to the complexity of the project, it is anticipated that the intervention, involving 14 workers, will conclude during the early hours of Wednesday. Subsequently, the restoration of water supply will occur gradually, commencing on Wednesday morning as the water lines become pressurized and the storage tank replenishes its levels.

Additionally, personnel from the Drinking Water Production department will conduct maintenance work, replacing a critical valve on the arrival line of the El Mangal Tank. This preventative action is crucial to mitigate the risk of system failures.

Residents residing in 12 de Octubre, Magisterium Extension, Bosques del Progreso, Brisas del Pacífico I and II, Campestre San Nicolás, Del Villar, El Progreso, Fraccionamiento Maralta, Fraccionamiento Vista Pacífico, and Héroes de la Patria will also experience a temporary water supply disruption. This interruption will occur from 8 pm on Tuesday, January 16, to 1 am on Wednesday, January 17.

The affected areas encompass Joyas del Pedregal, La Parota, La Trinidad, Laguna del Valle, Lomas de Enmedio, Lomas de San Nicolás, Lomas del Coapinole, Lomas del Progreso, Los Mangos, Palma Real I and II, Palmar del Progreso I and II, Salitrillo, San Miguel, Villa de San Nicolás, Vista Volcanoes, and Volcanoes.

SEAPAL Vallarta encourages residents to take the necessary precautions by storing an adequate supply of water in advance, if possible. It is essential to understand that these infrastructure improvements are designed to enhance the long-term reliability and quality of the drinking water service in the region.

As the project progresses, SEAPAL Vallarta remains committed to minimizing inconveniences for residents and ensuring that the water supply is swiftly restored once the maintenance and construction work is completed.
