Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco – The Cultural Projects Office (OPC) of Puerto Vallarta has launched its exciting Summer Nights program, a weekly cultural celebration held every Thursday at 6:30 p.m. This initiative aims to enrich the local community with a diverse array of live music performances, poetry readings, art exhibitions, cinema screenings, and thought-provoking talks, all complemented by innovative and refreshing drinks.
The Summer Nights program is sponsored by Atarraya Raicilla, Eterno Embrujo Raicilla, and Tequila 1800, which are dedicated to enhancing the summer evenings with their exquisite signature cocktails. These sponsors play a vital role in bringing a unique and flavorful experience to the attendees.
The inaugural event on Thursday, July 4, set a high standard with performances by talented musicians Valeria Moeller, Gabo Navarro, and Traes Flash, alongside the extraordinary poet Víctor Uribe. Adding to the evening’s charm was the multi-talented musician and artist Alejandro Muraira, whose presence further elevated the concert.
Simultaneously, the Tropical Impressions monoprint workshop, conducted by Tony Bastard, offered participants an opportunity to learn non-toxic printmaking techniques. This hands-on workshop added an educational and creative dimension to the evening’s festivities.
On Thursday, July 11, the program featured the Raicilla: New Spaces, New Encounters talk, which brought together renowned mixologists Dan Camacho (Mita Mita Bar), Alexandra Walsh (El Tasting Room), Isis Hernández (Savia Agave Niche), and Fernando Sánchez (Chiro Taberna de Costa). The discussion, moderated by Larissa Carrillo from Eterno Embrujo Raicilla and Arturo Dávila from Atarraya Raicilla, explored new trends and spaces in the world of Raicilla. Attendees enjoyed expertly crafted drinks made from this distinctive regional distilled spirit.
The OPC Summer Nights program is a collaborative effort of Vallarta’s artistic and cultural community, with institutional support from the University of Guadalajara through the social service providers of the Centro Universitario de la Costa.
Luis Villaseñor, director of the city’s Tourism Promotion Office Trust, expressed his enthusiasm for the program, stating, “Being home to a large artistic community, Puerto Vallarta is not only a sun and beach destination but is also characterized by its cultural attractions, including art exhibitions, live music, literary gatherings, and many other artistic events that contribute to the experience of our visitors.”
