Hundreds of Tourists Evacuated in Puerto Vallarta After 6.1 Magnitude Earthquake Near Michoacán

Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco – Hundreds of tourists in Puerto Vallarta’s hotel zone were evacuated early Sunday morning following a 6.1 magnitude earthquake off the coast of Michoacán.

The earthquake struck at 2:32 a.m. Central Mexico time, with its epicenter located 47 kilometers southwest of Coalcomán, Michoacán, according to the National Seismological Service (SSN). The tremor was strongly felt along Mexico’s Pacific coastline, prompting immediate evacuations in several areas as a precautionary measure.
