Puerto Vallarta, Mexico – On Sunday, June 2, the entire Puerto Vallarta Municipal Citizen Security force, including both operational and Traffic elements, will be fully deployed to ensure the security of the election operations. Commissioner Rigoberto Flores Parra announced that all personnel will be on duty from before 7 a.m. until the closure of the last voting booths.
The city will host 587 voting booths across 169 locations, with each site having two security personnel assigned to handle any eventualities. Additionally, there will be four special booths: two in the Macro Plaza, one at Soriana Flamingos, and one at the esplanade of the flagpole at the Agustín Flores Contreras Municipal Sports Unit.
Special surveillance will be in place at the Electoral Council headquarters on Río Michigan Street #140 in Fluvial Vallarta and the Municipal Electoral Council headquarters on Revolución Street #350 in the Las Juntas delegation, opposite the Police Academy.
To ensure voter safety and compliance, police operations will also extend to traditional festivals. Officers will monitor to prevent intoxicated individuals, those under the influence of substances, or those carrying weapons from disrupting the voting process. Reports of any anomalies or emergencies can be made via 9-1-1, and officers are instructed to uphold human rights while coordinating with the Regional Prosecutor’s Office of Justice to address any criminal incidents lawfully.
Collaboration with federal agencies, including the XLI Military Zone, XII Naval Zone, the National Guard Coordinator, and the State Police detachment, will be maintained for any emergencies. Additionally, surveillance on the Malecón will be intensified starting Friday, May 31, in preparation for the city’s double anniversary celebrations. The events will feature performances by a jazz group, the School Orchestra, Mariachi Vargas, and a fireworks display.
