Puerto Vallarta, Mexico – A Canadian man was rescued by lifeguards on Monday after struggling to get out of the sea at Las Glorias beach. The 82-year-old, who appeared exhausted and experienced breathing difficulties, was pulled from the water by the local water rescue team.
According to reports, the man was unable to return to shore on his own due to strong currents. Lifeguards swiftly responded to the emergency, assisting him back to safety before administering first aid on the scene. He was then transported to the Regional Hospital for medical treatment.
Authorities later indicated that the man may have suffered a pre-infarction, a condition that can precede a heart attack, while in the water. His current condition remains unknown.
Lifeguards have issued a renewed warning to residents and visitors, urging them to adhere to flag codes at local beaches. Recent weather conditions have increased rip currents and wave intensity, posing heightened risks for swimmers.
