Website Help

I cannot log in

If you have an account with PVDN, you can log in.

You can log in here: https://vallartadaily.com/login/

I need to reset my password

We cannot reset your password for you. You will need to visit the Forgot Password page here: https://www.vallartadaily.com/lostpassword/

You will receive an email with a password reset link. It is sent 100% of the time. If you do not see the email in your inbox, check your SPAM folder. Most of the time, password reset emails end up in SPAM. If you still have not received the email, please check your email address. Try again using the email address associated with your account, and make sure you are spelling your email correctly.

I am logged in but cannot read articles

If you are logged in to the website but cannot read full articles, the likely cause is that your subscription has expired. Check the status of your subscription here: https://www.vallartadaily.com/register/edit-your-profile/

I need to cancel my subscription

IF you have a subscription that auto-renews, you will see an option to cancel your subscription on your account page: https://www.vallartadaily.com/register/edit-your-profile/

IF your subscription does not auto-renew, you will not see an option to cancel your account because there is nothing to cancel; you will lose access when your subscription expires.

Emailing us to cancel your account is not an approved way to cancel it. You must take action on your account page, not via email.

  • When a member cancels, their automatic renewal payment is immediately stopped.
  • The member keeps access to their restricted content for the remainder of the paid subscription period. For example, a member who cancels on May 15th but whose subscription is set to renew on June 1st will still have access until June 1st.
  • Members cannot cancel their own membership if they are on a payment plan that is not set to auto-renew, as this is an agreement for a fixed payment over a set period.

App Help

Check your App version

Before wasting too much time trying to fix a problem, verify that you are using the latest app version.

Android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.pvnews.app

iPhone: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/puerto-vallarta-news/id6754093625

If your app is not up to date, you will see an option to update it in the app store.

My app says I only have 3 free reads

This issue has been reported by a few iOS (Apple) users, and we are working with Apple to determine why some users are experiencing it. It is believed to be an issue with the iPhone keeping login sessions alive. If you see a message on iPhone or Android suggesting you have used all your free reads, click the Settings tab in the App, then click Sign Out and Sign in again to start a fresh session.

This also happens if a user has logged in on multiple devices because subscriptions allow only four devices per user. So if you have shared your username and password with someone, this could also be your problem.

The app keeps telling me to login to read full stories

If you are logged into the app but the articles keep telling you to log in to read, your subscription has likely expired. You should visit the WEBSITE and renew your subscription. This cannot be done from the app.

I am getting too many app notifications

PVDN publishes nearly 50 national stories every day, which is a lot of notifications if you do not choose which notifications you want.

  1. Open the app
  2. Click on notifications
  3. Choose the topics you are interested in
  4. Choose the locations you are interested in
  5. Click Save

Now you will only receive notifications for news stories that interest you.
