Mexican Peso Opens Volatile but Recovers on Tariff Suspension Deal

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico - The Mexican peso experienced a volatile start on Thursday, opening around 20.39 pesos per dollar—an appreciation of 0.09% or two cents compared to the previous day—according to Bloomberg data.

Market analysts attribute the initial volatility to concerns surrounding tariffs imposed earlier this week. However, a last-minute agreement among Mexico, Canada, and the United States to suspend tariffs on vehicles for another month helped stabilize the currency, according to Monex specialists.
