One of the three bloodiest cells of the Jalisco Nueva Generación Cartel operates in Puerto Vallarta

The Jalisco Nueva Generación Cartel (CJNG) is one of the most dangerous criminal organizations in Mexico and the world, as it has come to establish operations centers in other countries such as Ecuador, where it has left a trail of violence in its struggle to obtain control of the region.

To wage its bloody wars in the territories it disputes with other cartels such as the Sinaloa cartel, the organization led by Nemesio Oseguera Cervantes, alias “El Mencho”, has at least 36 armed cells, each under the command of a regional leader.

However, three of these groups stand out for being the cruelest and most bloodthirsty, as well as being responsible for the majority of kidnappings, extortions, and executions throughout Mexico.

One of these cells operates in Puerto Vallarta and is headed by Hugo Gonzalo Mendoza Gaytán, alias “El Sapo”, who took control after the murder of a Colombian drug trafficker and the arrest of Abigael González Valencia, alias “El Cuini”.

Two of the most violent drug traffickers of the CJNG operate together with Mendoza Gaytán: Carlos Andrés Varela, alias “La Firma”, and Francisco Javier Gudiño Haro, alias “La Gallina”.

Both criminals are related to the murder of the former governor of Jalisco, Aristóteles Sandoval Díaz, as well as the attack in Mexico City against the Secretary of Citizen Security, Omar García Harfuch.

Another of the most powerful cells of the CJNG is the so-called Los Cabos, whose leaders are Edgar Herrera Pardo, alias “Caiman”; Carlos Lorenzo Hinojosa Guerrero, alias “Cabo 96”; Edgar Pérez Villa, alias “Cabo 89”, and Israel Alejandro Vázquez, alias “Cabo 50”.

Even the United States Department of Justice is concerned about the increase in the operations of this cell on the California border, since it tends to act with extreme violence, and they are accused of being responsible for the increase in drug trafficking in cities like San Diego.

Finally, there is the “Elite Group” of the Jalisco Nueva Generación Cartel, the most powerful armed wing of the organization, as it is made up of men with paramilitary training, and whose priority is to finish with the objective regardless of the means.

This group has been responsible for the violence in states such as Michoacán and Guanajuato, where massacres have become daily situations due to the war they wage with the Santa Rosa de Lima Cartel and the United Cartels.
