The National Institute for Women (Inmujeres) urged people to join Orange Day celebrations, a campaign of the United Nations Organization to combat violence against women and girls.
“Today is # DíaNaranja use any color garment or accessory, join violence against women and girls,” wrote the institute in his Twitter account @inmujeres.
Secretary General of the Organization of the United Nations (UN), Ban Ki-Moon, implemented the “JOIN” campaign to promote awareness and political will and allocate resources to end all forms of violence against females .
This campaign calls on the 25th of each month to all governments, civil society, women’s organizations, men, youth, private sector and media to join forces and fulfill that purpose to end violence against women.
Those days will focus on specific Sustainable Development Goals that are related to violence against women and girls and to end gender inequality and violence.
