Puerto Vallarta, Mexico – This Saturday, June 8, Puerto Vallarta will host some of the finest parkour athletes at the Parkour Challenge Puerto Vallarta. The event, set for Saturday, June 8th from 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm at the Puerto Vallarta Malecon, promises an exhilarating showcase of movement, skill, and agility.
Edén Salas Vanegas, coordinator of the Municipal Youth Care Institute (IMAJ), announced the details of the event, highlighting the participation of athletes from Colima, Guadalajara, Zacatecas, Aguascalientes, and Puerto Vallarta. The top three performers will be awarded an economic incentive, adding to the excitement of the competition.
Activities will commence at 3:00 PM with an open training session for those interested in utilizing the specialized infrastructure installed for the event. At 4:30 PM, there will be an exhibition for youth and children aged 6 to 15, followed by the main competition starting at 5:00 PM.
This year marks the fourth edition of the Parkour Challenge, the last of which was held in 2019 before the pandemic. Expectations are high, with organizers estimating around 200 attendees and participants, surpassing previous years’ numbers.
Salas Vanegas emphasized the goal of raising awareness about parkour, which is set to be included as an Olympic sport in the upcoming Olympic Games in France.
