Playa de Elite Residences Hosts IV International Beach Polo Cup

The IV International Beach Polo Cup in the Riviera Nayarit returns to the Mexican Pacific on March 13-15, 2015. This year, teams from Italy, Argentina, Canada, U.S and two from Mexico will seek the crown in this Sport of Kings.

The event will start on March 13 at 1:30 PM at Playa de Elite Residences in Nuevo Vallarta with games beginning on the hours of 2, 3, and 4 PM.

Saturday, March 14 begins the Yacht Experience with solo and companion players at 9 AM. The team presentations will begin at 1:30 PM with games on the hour between 2-4 PM.

Sunday, March 15 will duplicate Saturday’s tournament schedule with an awards ceremony at 6:45 PM.

As part of the national circuit of the Mexico Polo Tour presented by Tucané, this tournament is presented by Ferrari & Maserati Mexico; host resort Hard Rock Hotel; and tournament host, Elite Residences.

“We want the Riviera Nayarit to shine, and we’re grateful that the destination with its gorgeous settings has opened its doors to us,” said José Antonio Amutio, Managing Director for the event. “Thanks to the experience accumulated over the past three years the entire event has improved, from the staging, to the playing field and everything in between.”

One of the novelties of the current event is the Ferrari-Maserati Parade, to be held previous to the March 13th inauguration, during which the vehicles will escort the players and their horses in a spectacular ceremony down Avenida de los Cocoteros in Nuevo Vallarta.

Included in the activities scheduled to promote the destination is a tour for the players to visit the Islas Marietas along with the sponsors and celebrity guests.

“The support of the Riviera Nayarit CVB and the State Government via the Secretariat of Tourism was key in allowing us to host this international event for the fourth year in a row,” added José Antonio Amutio.

The expected increase in attendees from Mexico and other countries is of approximately 30%; attendance to the event is free. Both national and international media will be present to offer as much exposure for the event as possible.
The Riviera Nayarit Convention and Visitors Bureau Groups and Events department works to support and sponsor the tournament on many levels thanks to its importance on an international level. Through their diligence they seek to place the Riviera Nayarit on the world stage and ensure the destination puts on a first-rate event from start to finish.
