Puerto Vallarta espera visita de ballena jorobada

Prestadores de servicios turísticos de Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, se preparan para el avistamiento de la ballena jorobada o también llamada la yubarta, que se registra entre los meses de diciembre y marzo.

Óscar Hidalgo, quien es director de la embarcación catamarán Canuwa, explicó que se trata de uno de los mayores atractivos de Puerto Vallarta, dado que la ballena es una de las especies más grandes del mundo.

“Oficialmente por Semarnat, el avistamiento de esta especie acuática comienza el 1 de diciembre, sin embargo, ya estamos a unos días, preparándonos”, explicó.

Una ballena adulta llega a medir de 15 a 19 metros, pesar más de tres toneladas, y llega a las costas de Puerto Vallarta para llevar a cabo un ritual de reproducción.

En un recorrido en el catamarán Canuwa por Bahía de Banderas, en las playas de Los Arcos, Quimixto, Las Ánimas, Playa del Caballo y Colomito, se observa la riqueza natural de Jalisco.

La embarcación es empleada para realizar recorridos turísticos en la Bahía de Banderas, entre las que destaca la visita a la zona de las ballenas y realizar actividades acuáticas como bucear, paddle board (surf de remo), snorkeling y snuba (mezcla de snorkel con buceo).

Es un catamarán de lujo de 62 pies con capacidad para 100 personas y una tripulación de seis marineros y un capitán.

“Tengan la seguridad que la gente pasará un día muy agradable en este catamarán, donde se podrá disfrutar de Puerto Vallarta”, explicó Óscar Hidalgo.

A bordo de Canuwa, un chef prepara “pulpo enamorado”, ceviche, guacamole y ensaladas.

Con música de fondo durante el recorrido, la embarcación llega a la zona del avistamiento de la ballena Jorobada, que está por llegar a Vallarta en unos días.

Esta ballena se alimenta sólo durante el verano en las regiones polares, y migra a aguas tropicales como las costas de Jalisco entre los meses de diciembre a marzo, para llevar a cabo su ritual de reproducción.

En la bahía también se practica la pesca deportiva, como puede ser la captura de pez vela, dorado, marlín rayado y negro, dependiendo de la época del año.

“El atún de aleta amarilla lo tenemos en los meses de abril a junio o julio, el dorado en tiempos de lluvia, de julio a septiembre, y el marlín noviembre. Nunca dejas de sorprendente, siempre que sales es una experiencia diferente, aunque sea el mismo mar”, comentó Irlayn Torres Sánchez, guía de actividades acuáticas.
