PUERTO VALLARTA (PVDN) - International travelers now have a new way to reach Mexico's picturesque Puerto Vallarta, with Alaska Airlines announcing a new route from Las Vegas. The service is set to commence on December 14, 2023, and will run until April 9, 2024. This move serves to strengthen the connection from the United States and bolster Puerto Vallarta's appeal during the winter season.
The Las Vegas-Puerto Vallarta route will operate four times a week on a 76-seat Embraer E175 aircraft, complete with a First Class cabin, a Premium Economy cabin with extra legroom, and a Standard Economy cabin. This addition will offer a monthly capacity increase of 1,216 seats to the Puerto Vallarta metropolitan region.
This winter, international tourists can look forward to a myriad of experiences at Jalisco's primary sun and beach destination. The region offers over 50 outdoor activities, local gastronomy, first-class services, and a wide range of options to enjoy the natural environment.
Luis Villaseñor, director of the Public Trust for Tourism Promotion and Advertising of the Municipality of Puerto Vallarta, voiced his pride in offering this seasonal route. He noted it would extend the availability of seats and provide new connection options for visitors from the United States, the top international market for Puerto Vallarta. He added that visitors would undoubtedly enjoy the warmth and hospitality that characterize the port.
The new route comes as Puerto Vallarta witnesses a boom in air traffic. According to figures from the Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacífico (GAP), the Puerto Vallarta International Airport has registered a movement of 3,154,800 passengers from January to May 2023. This figure represents a growth of 20.4% compared to the same period last year.
