CFE restored 97% of the service affected in Nayarit by Hurricane Roslyn

The Federal Electricity Commission (CFE) reported that thanks to the restoration work, it was possible to recover the electricity supply to 97% of the users who were affected by the passage of Hurricane Roslyn.

"179,293 users were affected, of which the electricity supply has been restored to 174,280, which is equivalent to an advance of 97%", according to Manuel Barlett, head of CFE. Similarly, it was clarified that in the next few hours 3,000 affected users will recover services, through the strategy of installing emergency plants and repairing the electrical infrastructure that was damaged.

“A little more than 5,000 users continue to be affected in the state of Nayarit due to damage to the electrical infrastructure, where its replacement is difficult due to the water levels of the marshes, the repair work will not stop, until it returns to its normal conditions. of operation”.

Barlett shared that for the emergency there were 1,585 electrical workers, 226 cranes, 505 vehicles, 10 all-terrain vehicles, 165 emergency plants, 21 lighting towers, and three helicopters, located at strategic points.

Damage from Hurricane Roslyn

It was last Sunday, October 23, when Hurricane Roslyn made landfall as category 3 in Santiago Ixcuintla, Nayarit. In this sense, the national coordinator of Civil Protection, Laura Velázquez, reported that the municipalities most affected by the hurricane were Tecuala, Acaponeta, Rosa Morada, Huajicori, and Santiago Ixcuintla.

According to what was reported by the CFE, due to the presence of Roslyn, 157,178 users (which represent 3% of the 5 million total users in Jalisco, Nayarit, and Sinaloa) were affected by failures in the supply of energy.
