Charro Day Parade Set to Dazzle the Streets of Puerto Vallarta Today with Parade

PUERTO VALLARTA (PVDN) – The anticipation is palpable in the coastal city of Puerto Vallarta as Charro associations gear up to celebrate Charro Day on September 14th. The annual event, marked by a traditional parade featuring both men and women on horseback, promises to paint the city’s central streets with vibrant colors and rich traditions this Thursday.

The official call for charros and escaramuzas is set for 11:00 a.m. at the strategic intersection of Venustiano Carranza and Ignacio L. Vallarta streets in the Emiliano Zapata neighborhood. From there, they will set forth towards the heart of the city.

Observers can expect an impressive spectacle, with approximately a hundred pairs of charros and escaramuzas making their way through Ignacio L. Vallarta. The parade will pause briefly in front of the Municipal Presidency, resuming its path along México Avenue towards the 5 de Diciembre neighborhood adjacent to a prominent self-service store.

The next leg of the journey takes them to the El Pitillal delegation, a location of significant importance to the charrería tradition in Puerto Vallarta.

Concluding the parade, the procession of horse-riding men and women will head to Arena Vallarta. They will be greeted with a reception and a friendly competition, putting the final touch on the day’s Charro Day celebrations.

The parade will feature seven esteemed groups and the Las Costeñitas skirmish. These include Rancho La Palapa, Charros de El Pitillal, Hacienda Serena, charros de Serena SRG, the Ramón Ibarría González team, El Par de Ases, and Ejido La Palapa. The Alacranes of Las Palmas and those from Tomatlán are also likely to participate. The Charros de Vallarta, although no longer affiliated with the Union, will join the parade. Their long-standing history and commitment to the tradition remain as strong as ever.

Residents and visitors alike are encouraged to come out and immerse themselves in this cultural festivity, showcasing the pride and heritage of Puerto Vallarta.
