Experience the Magic of Puerto Vallarta’s Fiestas de Mayo 2023

Puerto Vallarta (PVDN) – On Wednesday, the schedule for the Fiestas de Mayo 2023 was revealed, featuring an extensive lineup of artistic and musical performances. The festivities will take place from May 19 to July 4 at the Explanada Vallarta, with Gloria Trevi’s concert on May 13 serving as a prelude to the event.

At a press conference, organizers shared information about the event that was revived last year after an 18-year hiatus, aiming to preserve Vallarta’s cultural traditions. Oscar Eduardo López, the general director of Fiestas de Mayo 2023, was accompanied by Francisco Pérez Valadez, the operational director, and Alexis Delgado, who heads the artistic and musical aspects of the organizing committee.

Delgado explained that the performances will be divided into two categories: large-scale events at the concert esplanade, which will require paid admission, and free events at the town theater, located at the Miguel “Prieto” Ibarría charro arena. Entry to the town theater events will be included with a fair admission ticket.

Free events at the town theater commence on May 19 with Mi Banda El Mexicano and continue through June 4 with various performances and activities, including Jaripeo 4×4, wrestling, a circus, and Muay Thai fights. Paid events will feature Pancho Barraza on May 20, Junior H on May 25, and Julión Álvarez on June 3, with VIP areas and varying ticket prices.

The fair will also include a commercial area for the sale of goods and food, offering special discounts to Vallarta entrepreneurs or businesses looking to promote their brands.

Fair admission will cost 30 pesos for adults and 15 pesos for children, which also grants entry into a raffle for a new car on the fair’s final day.

The press conference also addressed safety and security measures, with Gerardo Alonzo Castillón Andrade, director of Civil Protection and Firefighters, announcing that staff will supervise all fair facilities to ensure attendee safety. Additionally, the Citizen Security and Transit Directorate will implement security operations to maintain order and traffic management around the fairgrounds, as confirmed by Municipal Transit Supervisor Martín Ruiz Castro.
