Ximena Sariñana Free Puerto Vallarta Concert Confirmed
Puerto Vallarta has its first named music act for Jalisco’s World Cup calendar.
Ximena Sariñana is scheduled to perform a free concert in Puerto Vallarta on July 4. The show is part of the state’s cultural and entertainment program tied to the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Officials have not announced the exact venue. That remains the main missing detail.
The concert was confirmed on Monday through the state entertainment office, according to details released on the Puerto Vallarta program. Lorena Martínez Ramírez, director of Jalisco’s State Entertainment Agency, said the performance falls under Vibra Jalisco. The program includes concerts, match screenings, and public activities during the tournament.
Authorities said the events will be free. They also said advance registration will not be required for the concerts. The catch, for now, is the missing map pin. No official location has been published for Sariñana’s show.
World Cup programming reaches the coast
The July 4 concert gives Puerto Vallarta a clearer place in Jalisco’s World Cup push. Guadalajara will host four group-stage matches at Estadio Guadalajara. The games are set for June 11, June 18, June 23, and June 26, according to the state tourism calendar for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Puerto Vallarta will not host matches. The beach destination has still been folded into the state’s companion programming. That includes public viewing areas, music, food, events, and entertainment built around the games. The announcement fills in part of the music question raised earlier, when Puerto Vallarta was told to expect a World Cup concert.
Tourism Secretary Michelle Fridman previously said the city would have public viewing spaces and side events. She also clarified the language around the program.
“Only the name changes,” Fridman said in Spanish, referring to Public Viewing instead of FanFest.
She described the local plan as live match transmissions, concerts, music, and food events in different parts of the city.
“A little bit of everything,” she said.
Sariñana brings a Jalisco name to the lineup
Sariñana, born in Guadalajara, gives the Puerto Vallarta event a home-state connection. She has built a career across pop, film, and television. Her best-known songs include Vidas paralelas, No vuelvo más and Qué tiene.
Her name had already been used in Jalisco’s tourism messaging around the tournament. The state’s Embajadores de Jalisco campaign includes Sariñana alongside Alejandro Fernández, Checo Pérez, Isaac Hernández, Lorena Ochoa, Paty Cantú, Alan Estrada, and Manuel García Rulfo, according to the campaign presentation.
At that event, Fridman said Jalisco had “great ambassadors who represent Mexico in the world.” She said the campaign would show the state to the World beyond tequila, mariachi, and charrería during the World Cup.
The Puerto Vallarta announcement also comes as tourism operators watch whether World Cup traffic will spill over from Guadalajara to the coast. Local restaurants have been chasing part of that audience. The hotel picture has looked less certain, as recent coverage of World Cup demand at Puerto Vallarta restaurants has shown.
Venue details still pending
The concert is scheduled for July 4. That is after Guadalajara’s four group-stage matches but before the World Cup final on July 19. The timing places the show in the back half of the tournament. Jalisco’s programming is expected to continue even after local stadium play ends.
The likely venue has not been confirmed. Earlier planning for Puerto Vallarta’s public viewing areas mentioned the Pensiones del Estado land near the sports complex and sections of the Malecón. Officials have not said whether Sariñana will perform at either site.
