Local kids raise awareness of sea turtles through art

The Peñita de Jaltemba’s El Naranjo Turtle Camp recently hosted the grand finale of the 4th “Save the Sea Turtle” Drawing Contest, a project promoting environmental awareness among kids, organized by the Grupo de Ecologistas de Nayarit A.C.

As happens every year, hundreds of children participated in this free contest, which provides them with excellent tools in pro of the conservation of this endangered species.

This year 1,510 drawings were received of which only 50 made it to the finals: 25 in the first through third grade category and 25 within the fourth to sixth grade . . .
