Puerto Vallarta to Welcome 20 Cruise Ships in January 2025, Boosting Tourism

Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco — Puerto Vallarta is set to receive an influx of international tourists this January, as 20 cruise ships are scheduled to dock at the port throughout the month. According to the National Port System Administration (Asipona Vallarta), arrivals began on January 1, with two large vessels kicking off the busy cruise season.

On New Year’s Day, the 329-meter-long Discovery Princess docked at Pier 1, accompanied by the 299-meter-long Koningsdam at Pier 3. The following day, January 2, saw the arrival of the 333-meter-long Norwegian Joy at Pier 1, docking at 7 a.m. and departing by 6 p.m.

Tourism activity is expected to continue steadily, with several significant arrivals throughout the month. On Sunday, January 5, the 216-meter-long Ms Seven Seas will arrive at Pier 1 at 6 a.m., departing at 4 p.m. The following day, January 6, the Zaandam (327 meters) will dock at Pier 1 at 7 a.m. and set sail by 3 p.m.

On January 7, the Carnival Panorama, measuring 323 meters, will arrive at Pier 1 at 8:42 a.m. and remain in port until 10 p.m. The next day, January 8, the 329-meter-long Princess cruise ship will dock at Pier 1 at 7:15 a.m. and depart by 7 p.m.

Continuing the trend, the Norwegian Joy is set to return on January 9, arriving at Pier 1 at 7 a.m. and leaving by 6 p.m. On January 11, the Princess will once again dock at Pier 1 at 7 a.m., departing at 5 p.m.

The middle of the month will see a flurry of arrivals, beginning with the Navigator of the Seas on January 14 at Pier 2. The vessel will dock at 7 a.m. and depart at 6 p.m. On January 15, the Discovery Princess returns at 7:15 a.m., followed by the Carnival Panorama on January 16 at 8:42 a.m. at Pier 3. The Coral Princess, a 294-meter-long ship, will arrive the same day at Pier 2 at 7 a.m. and set sail at 5 p.m.

January 17 will welcome the Island Princess, which will dock at Pier 1 at 7 a.m. and depart at 4 p.m. In the penultimate week of the month, the Navigator of the Seas will return to Pier 2 on January 21, with the Discovery Princess arriving the following day at Pier 1.

A double arrival is anticipated on January 24, with the Coral Princess docking at Pier 3 at 6 a.m. and the Ruby Princess arriving at Pier 1 at 7:30 a.m. Both ships are expected to depart between 5 and 5:30 p.m.

The month will close with additional visits from the Carnival Panorama on January 28, docking at Pier 1 at 8:42 a.m. and leaving at 10 p.m. The Discovery Princess will return for its final visit on January 29 at Pier 1, departing at 5 p.m.

The arrival of these cruise ships is expected to bring thousands of tourists to Puerto Vallarta, providing a significant boost to the local economy and hospitality sector. Business owners, tour operators, and local artisans eagerly anticipate the influx, with hopes that this busy season will drive continued economic growth for the popular coastal destination.
