An evening of opera and contemporary music at Incanto

Opera soprano Vanessa Amaro and baritone Juan Carlos Villalobos will present an evening of opera and contemporary music on Feb. 23 at 7pm, accompanied by pianist Alejandro Villareal. Music selections include a variety of popular arias. Other favorites include If I Were A Rich Man from Fiddler On The Roof, and special guest pianist, Dennis Crow, will play a medley of Rodgers and Hammerstein classics.

Incanto presents their Academy Award-nominated Best Picture Film Series presented in the theatre on a large screen with state of the art sound, now showing through February 23rd. For a listing of the films, dates/times visit Incanto’s website.

On Feb. 24, starting at 6pm, join Incanto, in association with Democrats Abroad Costa Banderas Chapter, as they celebrate the Oscars with a special viewing party. Enter via the Red Carpet where you will be greeted with a flower, photo wall, complimentary house welcome drink, hors-d’oeuvres, and live entertainment by Opera soprano Vanessa Amaro and baritone Juan Carlos Villalobos. Cocktail Social Hour from 6-7pm. Casual to elegant white and/or black attire is suggested, however, everyone is encouraged to be comfortable. The Oscars begin at 7pm.

Dwight Blake is an accomplished entertainer and is back Incanto this season with his popular show ‘Memories of Motown’ accompanied by the Groove Brothers Band. Provincetown’s Scott Townsend, aka Thirsty Burlington stars In his signature show, Cher, Live! He mesmerizes audiences with all live vocals, gorgeous costumes, and hilarious comedy! He also stars in the independent film Thirsty about his life. Now playing through Feb. 25 at 9:30pm. A screening of the film, Thirsty, will be held on Feb. 20 at 7pm with a personal appearance by Thirsty.

Internationally renowned flamenco artists, Wolfgang ‘Lobo’ Fink (Willie & Lobo) and Esau Galvan (Tatewari), present an evening of fiery guitar music with a blend of Gypsy Flamenco and more on March 2 at 7pm. Also, see Lobo with Latcho Bartelson of ‘The Blond Gypsies’ with special guest, Andrea, when they reunite once again after 40 years for an encore performance of ‘Primal Groove’ on March 11 at 7pm.
Zoë Lewis, aptly described as ‘A band in a body’ has toured with Judy Collins, Pat Benatar, and The Indigo Girls. Her original music is upbeat, amusing and perfect for all ages. Now playing through Mar. 20. These are ticketed events in the piano bar.
Award-winning vocalist Luis Villanueva will present Revival featuring music from the ‘80s and more accompanied by several musicians. Ticketed event Feb. 22 at 7:30pm in the piano bar.

Incanto’s popular Season Tribute Series continues with all-live performances of many popular music artists. On March 3, 4 tribute artist Johnny Zatylny presents ‘Queen’. Now extended into March by popular demand, Incanto’s popular adaptation of the off-Broadway hit, Naked Boys Singing! has taken this fun, sassy, and witty musical comedy to new heights! Six young Latino actors sing and dance their way into your heart completely naked in this musical comedy that is celebrating its twentieth anniversary. Directed by original conceiver/director Robert Schrock, it boasts many sold-out performances and standing ovations! Presented in English.

Media Luna plays intense, high-energy flamenco, huapango, rock originals, and covers. Standing ovations are the norm for this young band originally from San Miguel de Allende. They will welcome a variety of special guest musicians throughout the season. Thursdays at 7pm.
Cheko Ruiz presents ‘The Music of The Gipsy Kings and much more!’ on Sundays at 9:30pm. Featuring many of Vallarta’s premier musicians, including singer-songwriter Zoe Wood, percussionist Danny ‘Choy’ Renteria, and a new horn section.

In the Piano Bar…

Singer-songwriter, Stolie, plays on select Sundays with a variety of originals and covers on acoustic guitar and piano. She’s unique, eclectic, fun, and very popular with audiences. Next show Feb. 24 at 5pm.

Miguel ‘Mike’ Rodriguez plays Jazz Piano on select Sundays. He will welcome some guest musicians to accompany him. Next show March 3 at 5pm.

Singer-songwriters Joby Hernandez and Tongo, who plays his own handmade flutes and drums, play on Mondays at 5pm. English and Spanish.

The Red Suitcases band plays Latin and American classic rock/pop covers in English and Spanish. Sundays at 7:30pm.

Singer-songwriters Zoe Wood and Eduardo León present ‘Thaumata’ with The Renteria Bros. Nuevo Flamenco, jazz, swing, Latin covers/originals, and Cuban rhythms. Mondays at 7:30pm. These are ticketed events in the piano bar.

Singer-songwriter George Gracia plays acoustic guitar and sings in English and Spanish. Tuesdays at 5pm. He has a beautiful voice and an easy-listening style.

The ‘Blue Knote Jazz Duet’ features seasoned band members Jorge Hernandez (The Zippers) on guitar and vocalist Chris Watters. Smooth Jazz/Bossa Nova. Select Tuesdays at 7:30pm.

Pianist Jean-Guy Comeau (‘Jay-Gee’) plays French, Latin and American love songs and classics in ‘Totally Romantico’. Wednesdays from 5-7pm.

Singer-songwriter Edgar Roxha sings in English and Spanish and plays in a mellow, easy-listening style. Thursdays at 5pm.

Pianist Dennis Crow plays standards and show-tunes on Sun., Mon., Tues. at 9:30pm. Join him at the piano and sing along!

Award-winning pianist, comedian and Music Director, Mark Hartman, plays piano on Wed., Fri., and Sat. at 9:30pm. Join him at the piano and sing along!

Open Mic is on Thursdays at 7:30pm hosted by Tracy Parks. Sing, dance, play an instrument. No cover. Arrive early to sign up.

The Joan Houston Show, Fridays at 5pm with Bob Bruneau at the piano, features familiar favorites from ‘The Great American Songbook’ and lots of laughs.

Bingo with Pearl is on Saturdays at 4pm. Great prizes including gift certificates, show tickets, and cash with drink specials and live entertainment. Loteria is typically held on the third Saturday of the month with a variety of guest hosts. Loteria will be held on Feb. 23. (See calendar)

New to Incanto, Zarapes de Neón. A group of musicians from Mexico and Colombia plays Salsa, Samba, Bossa Nova and more. Saturdays at 7:30pm.

Salsa Dancing/Lessons are held on Sundays and Wednesdays at 9pm (upper terrace) with professional instructor Francisco Ledezma. Lessons are free with your food/drink purchase. Beginners welcome.
