Puerto Vallarta (PVDN) – Aeromar announced this Wednesday the definitive cessation of its operations to Puerto Vallarta, and around Mexico, due to a series of financial problems that the airline is going through.
Starting February 15, it will stop flying to and from Mexico City, Acapulco, Aguascalientes, Cancun, Chetumal, Ciudad Victoria, Colima, Cozumel, Guadalajara, Ixtapa Zihuatanejo, Ixtepec, Mazatlán, Mérida, Monterrey, Piedras Negras, Puerto Escondido, Puebla, Puerto Vallarta, Tepic and Villahermosa, in Mexico; Havana, in Cuba; and Laredo, Texas, and McAllen, Texas, in the United States.
The turbulent trance that Aeromar is going through due to having million-dollar debts with pilots and flight attendants, aircraft lessors, and the federal government, has first led to the cancellation of flights at the Mexico City International Airport (AICM).
Of the debts that Aeromar has, one of the largest is to the AICM, since it owes it more than $500 million pesos, it also has a debt with Airports and Auxiliary Services of more than $74 million and an amount not publicly known corresponding to the use of the airport that the administration did not hand over to the government.
