Alaska Airlines receives inaugural flight from Puerto Vallarta to Las Vegas

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico – The Puerto Vallarta International Airport is rapidly increasing its international connectivity, with the latest addition being a new route to Las Vegas operated by Alaska Airlines.

The Director of the Puerto Vallarta International Airport, Cryshtian Amador Lizardi, marked the inauguration of this new route as a significant milestone for the region. Emphasizing the importance of this connection, Lizardi highlighted its potential to establish a vital link with the renowned American tourist destination, Las Vegas. Moreover, this development represents a substantial boost to passenger traffic at the airport, which has already witnessed a remarkable 10% increase this year when compared to the same period in 2022.

The newly introduced route is operated using an Embraer E175 aircraft, boasting a capacity to accommodate 76 passengers. The flight duration is approximately 3 hours and 30 minutes, making it a convenient option for travelers. The service will be available four times a week, with flights scheduled for Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays. This new route offers an estimated monthly seat capacity of 1,216.

Luis Antonio Villaseñor Nolasco, Director of the Puerto Vallarta Tourism Trust, expressed his optimism regarding the new connection. He stated, “With this route, we reaffirm our commitment to providing exceptional travel experiences, capitalizing on the accessibility it offers to North American travelers who seek to explore our beautiful beaches, rich culture, and warm hospitality. We are confident that this connection will significantly contribute to an influx of passengers and further strengthen the ties between Las Vegas and Puerto Vallarta.”

Miguel Arreola, Manager of the local station for Alaska Airlines, also voiced his enthusiasm for the expansion. He remarked, “We are delighted to welcome this new destination, a testament to the growth and successful collaboration between the Puerto Vallarta International Airport and Alaska Airlines, which recently celebrated 35 years of flying to Mexico. Alaska Airlines currently operates seven different direct routes to the United States, including Seattle, San Diego, Portland, Los Angeles, San Francisco, San José, and our newest addition, Las Vegas.”

The introduction of this Las Vegas route underscores Puerto Vallarta’s commitment to enhancing its air travel offerings, thereby facilitating greater accessibility for international visitors. This development is expected to boost tourism and foster stronger connections between these two vibrant destinations.
