Long Dry Season Expected in Puerto Vallarta, Meteorologist Warns

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico – Meteorologist Víctor Manuel Cornejo López has issued a cautionary forecast for Puerto Vallarta, predicting a prolonged and intense dry season ahead. According to Cornejo López, mathematical models indicate that the region will experience minimal rainfall until July, marking a departure from typical weather patterns.

“Temperatures are gradually rising, signaling the onset of a prolonged dry spell,” stated Cornejo López. “The dry season will persist longer than usual due to delayed onset of the rainy season. In May, we anticipate scant rainfall across the coastal areas, with similar conditions prevailing into June.”

Cornejo López emphasized that a significant shift is expected in July, with the arrival of heavy downpours. However, he expressed concerns about the potential consequences of excessive rainfall. “While heavy rains may provide relief, the challenge lies in managing the runoff. Excessive water tends to flow directly into the sea, limiting our ability to harness it for beneficial use.”

The forecast serves as a reminder for residents and authorities to prepare for an extended period of dry conditions followed by potentially intense rainfall. Cornejo López advised implementing water conservation measures and monitoring developments closely as the weather patterns evolve.

As Puerto Vallarta braces for an atypical weather pattern, residents are urged to stay informed and take necessary precautions to mitigate the impact of the impending dry season.

Stay tuned for further updates as meteorologists continue to monitor the evolving weather situation in Puerto Vallarta.
