Puerto Vallarta International Airport Expands Winter Schedule with 10 New Weekly Flights

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico—For the upcoming 2024-2025 winter season, Puerto Vallarta International Airport is set to enhance its connectivity by adding 10 new weekly flights, introducing over 7,000 outbound seats on new routes. This significant expansion aims to accommodate the increasing demand from international travelers seeking the warm climates and vibrant culture of Mexico’s Pacific coast.

According to Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacífico (GAP), the operator of the airport, the new flights will commence this month, with the inaugural service scheduled for October 22. Marking a milestone, this flight is the only one originating from Europe: a weekly route from Prague, Czech Republic, offered by the Spanish airline World2fly (World 2 Fly SLU). Utilizing the spacious Airbus A350 aircraft, which can accommodate 432 passengers, World2fly will provide an average of 1,728 seats per month, connecting European travelers directly to Puerto Vallarta.

Expanding its reach within North America, the airport will welcome a new weekly flight from Bagotville, Quebec, Canada, operated by Sunwing Airlines starting December 8. This service will offer an average of 736 outbound seats per month, catering to Canadian tourists seeking a winter escape.

The expansion continues into the new year with Alaska Airlines launching two significant routes on January 6. The airline will introduce a weekly flight from Sacramento, California, adding approximately 712 outbound seats per month. More notably, Alaska Airlines will commence four weekly flights from New York, significantly boosting capacity with 2,848 seats per month. Further strengthening its partnership with Puerto Vallarta, Alaska Airlines will begin weekly flights from Kansas City, Missouri, and St. Louis, Missouri, on January 19, each contributing an additional 712 outbound seats per month.

Rounding out the expansion, Southwest Airlines is set to launch a weekly flight from Sacramento on March 7, supplementing the airport’s capacity with an extra 712 departing seats each month.

These additions reflect the growing appeal of Puerto Vallarta as a premier tourist destination and the airport’s commitment to facilitating seamless travel experiences. The increased accessibility is expected to stimulate the local economy, support tourism-related businesses, and provide more options for international visitors.

“The introduction of these new routes not only strengthens Puerto Vallarta’s position as a global destination but also underscores our dedication to meeting the evolving needs of travelers,” a GAP spokesperson commented. “We are excited to welcome new and returning guests from across Europe and North America this winter season.”

Travelers are encouraged to check with the respective airlines for booking details and to stay informed about any travel advisories or health protocols in place.
