Long road to completing the Guadalajara-Puerto Vallarta Highway

The project that began four years ago to connect Guadalajara and Puerto Vallarta has finally picked up steam after environmental and budget concerns.

The highway is expected to be completed in December 2017 with an inaugurate in early 2018, according to the Secretariat of Communications and Transportation, Bernardo Gutierrez Navarro.

The Secretary of Tourism of Jalisco, Enrique Ramos Flores mentioned that there have been several delays in the process caused by budget cuts and complications in preserving natural areas.
