Puerto Vallarta’s Boca de Tomatlán Pier Construction Progresses Despite Challenges

Puerto Vallarta (PVDN) - The construction of the new Boca de Tomatlán pier in Puerto Vallarta is now 70% complete, with its progress slowed down by the intricate pile-driving process.

Seven months into the construction, the pier's development has been hindered by the challenges of installing the beams that will support the marine structure. As a result, the completion timeline has been pushed back.

Originally scheduled for completion at the end of May, the Jalisco Secretariat of Infrastructure and Public Works now estimates that the pier could be finished by the end of June. This extension is due to the complexities in the pile driving and construction process.

While the pier may not appear to be far along, once the piles are in place, the remaining work is expected to progress more rapidly.

Launched in September 2022, the Boca de Tomatlán Pier reconstruction is part of the Jalisco coast maritime connectivity project, with an investment of 30 million pesos.
