Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco — In a significant operation, federal agents dismantled a greenhouse containing almost 300 marijuana plants in the municipality of Puerto Vallarta. The Attorney General’s Office (FGR) confirmed the successful operation through a press release.
The Specialized Regional Control Prosecutor’s Office (FECOR) in Jalisco, working alongside the Federal Public Prosecutor’s Office, coordinated with the National Guard to execute a search warrant issued by the Specialized District Control Judge in the Accusatory Criminal System. The target was a property located in Puerto Vallarta.
According to the investigation records, members of the National Guard were patrolling along Cuauhtémoc Street when they detected a strong smell of marijuana emanating from a residential property. Upon closer inspection, they observed a visible marijuana plantation from outside the premises.
Recognizing the seriousness of the discovery, the National Guard promptly informed the Federal Public Prosecutor’s Office (MPF). The MPF then requested a search warrant for the property. The Federal Ministerial Police (PFM) of the Criminal Investigation Agency (AIC), supported by specialized forensic experts and the National Guard, carried out the operation.
During the search, authorities seized 292 marijuana plants, three bags of processed marijuana, 30 high-intensity lamps, and a heater used for cultivation purposes. All confiscated items, including the property, were secured and placed at the disposal of the Federal Public Prosecutor’s Office.
The FGR stated that they will continue the investigation to determine responsibility for crimes against health. Those found accountable for the illegal operation may face severe legal consequences.
This operation underscores the ongoing efforts by federal authorities to combat illegal drug cultivation and distribution in Jalisco and across Mexico. The collaboration between the FGR, National Guard, and other law enforcement agencies highlights a coordinated strategy to maintain public safety and uphold the rule of law.
