Puerto Vallarta, a destination known for its array of watersports, now offers JetSurf, an ultra-light powered surfboard that combines the motor speed of a jet ski with a surfboard.
JetSurf was created in the Czech Republic in 2008 with the support of Formula One engineers and designers.
The sport has been popular in Europe for some time, but Mexico hosted the first world JetSurf tournament in Cancun in April.
Classes taught by certified instructors are offered at several locations in Puerto Vallarta, including Mantamar Beach Club, and at the JetSurf Club at Destiladera Beach in Bucerias, Riviera Nayarit.
