Mexico vs Netherlands in World Cup Rematch

Mexico will play the Netherlands in Amsterdam on November 12 in a rematch of their World Cup second round thriller as part of the central American side’s autumn tour, the Mexican football federation announced Wednesday.

The spectators will be hoping for as thrilling a game as the one at the World Cup in Brazil where Mexico looked destined for the quarter-finals leading 1-0 going into the final 10 minutes.

However, two late goals by Wesley Sneijder and a controversial penalty, won by Arjen Robben, converted by Klaas-Jan Huntelaar dashed the Mexicans hopes of a first appearances in the last eight since 1986.

The Dutch went on to reach the semi-finals where they were beaten on penalties by Argentina.

The Mexicans will finish their mini-European tour with a friendly against Belarus on November 18 at Borisov.
