Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco – In a significant boost to public safety, the administration of Mayor Luis Munguía has received a donation of 130 full sets of firefighting and civil protection equipment, courtesy of Operation International Firefighters 5280, an initiative supported by the cities of Denver and Boulder, Colorado, in the United States.
The donated equipment includes self-contained breathing apparatuses, face shields, helmets, jackets, gloves, pants, and boots, among other essential firefighting tools. This contribution aims to enhance the effectiveness of emergency response efforts in Puerto Vallarta, ensuring the safety of both firefighters and the community they serve.
Jorge Misael López Muro, director of Civil Protection and Firefighters of Puerto Vallarta, emphasized the importance of this donation, stating that the new gear will enable the department to respond more efficiently to emergencies, safeguarding lives and improving operational performance.
Manuel García, a representative from the Boulder Fire Department, praised Mayor Munguía for fostering the conditions necessary to facilitate this donation. He underscored the critical role of international collaboration in strengthening emergency response capabilities.
Mayor Luis Munguía expressed his gratitude to García and Luis Cedillo, a representative of the Denver Fire Department, for their efforts in coordinating the donation. He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to enhancing safety measures for both residents and visitors, stating that further donations and training initiatives are expected to continue equipping and developing the city’s firefighting force.
