The municipal government of Puerto Vallarta continues to donate supplies and equipment so that the children of the city have the necessary tools for a better education.
Through the program “Yo Veo por Jalisco” in coordination with the state and local government, 4,204 students in Puerto Vallarta received glasses that will allow them to improve their sight.
This program was completed with an investment of $869,975 pesos of which, the municipality contributed $100,000 pesos, plus the operating expenses and supplies of the staff that coordinated these actions and the optometrists sent by the state for the detection of students with visual problems, and the rest was provided by the state government.
On behalf of the acting mayor, Rodolfo Domínguez Monroy, the general secretary of the City Council, Víctor Bernal Vargas, stressed that one of the objectives set by this municipal government was to seek equal opportunities for all the people of Vallarta, in order to achieve a prosperous city; therefore, alliances were established with the state and the federation, to land programs and actions for the benefit of citizens.
“And there are the results, and several years have passed since the supports that have been achieved for supplies, backpacks, and shoes to support students, a joint program that has also been very successful. Of course, when the governments of the three levels, federal, state and municipal agree, the benefit is huge, because it is our obligation as a government to work for citizens to have better living conditions,” he said.
He indicated that thanks to this teamwork, today they provide these more than 4 thousand lenses to students with vision problems, thus eliminating “a possible disadvantage that existed in education, but also improve the health of many children and young people who had visual weakness and perhaps they did not know it, but that from today they will be able to see and learn better “. He acknowledged the effort of the councilor Celina Lomelí, president of the Education Commission, to make this program possible.

Also, a student, Ashley Charlize Melayes Rodríguez, on behalf of the beneficiaries, thanked those who made this program possible, “It is very important for us to be able to see clearly each of the letters that help us to know more, have more knowledge and work with enthusiasm, in this way, it will help us to improve our learning in school”.
