Citizen Security Commission Enhances Safety Measures for Summer Holidays in Puerto Vallarta

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico – In an effort to maintain a peaceful and safe environment for both residents and tourists, the Citizen Security Commission of Puerto Vallarta has announced the implementation of various prevention strategies throughout the summer holiday season. This initiative aims to ensure the safety and security of the city’s vibrant community and its numerous visitors.

Commissioner Rigoberto Flores Parra, reaffirming his commitment to public safety, has instructed officers to reinforce surveillance efforts across key areas. These include popular beaches, tourist hotspots, shopping centers, and banks. Additionally, the focus on neighborhood security will remain a priority, recognizing that while many tourists flock to Puerto Vallarta for their holidays, numerous local residents also travel, leaving their homes unoccupied.

To combat the risk of home burglaries, Commissioner Flores Parra advises residents to stay active in neighborhood watch groups, ensure their homes are securely locked, and notify neighbors or trusted individuals about their absence. This communication is crucial, as any suspicious activity can be promptly reported to the authorities. The “neighborhood watch” program, which has been strengthened in recent months, continues to play a pivotal role in deterring home burglaries.

The Tactical Operations Group (GOT) will enhance patrols in neighborhoods and high-traffic areas, as well as in commercial zones across the various delegations. This increased presence aims to prevent criminal activity and ensure the safety of all.

In response to the influx of visitors during the storm season, the Municipal Transit Sub-Directorate will implement security measures in alignment with the mobility law of the State of Jalisco. The “Saving Lives” operation will establish random checkpoints throughout the city to promote safe and responsible travel. Commissioner Flores Parra strongly recommends that club and bar patrons designate a sober driver to prevent accidents related to drinking and driving.

Public transport security will also be a focus area, with the Citizen Security Commission maintaining close coordination with the public transport service provider. Any incidents will be reported immediately to 911, and officers will follow up on each report diligently, conducting regular inspections along different routes.

Commissioner Flores Parra emphasizes the importance of community cooperation in fostering a culture of prevention. He encourages all citizens to work hand in hand with the authorities and to report any incidents of insecurity. By doing so, residents and tourists alike can enjoy a safe and secure environment throughout the summer holiday season in Puerto Vallarta.

For immediate assistance or to report any suspicious activities, residents are urged to contact the local authorities via the emergency number 911.
