Massive Infrastructure Rehabilitation Underway in Puerto Vallarta

PUERTO VALLARTA (PVDN) – The municipal government of Puerto Vallarta is making strides toward bettering the infrastructure of the city. Focused efforts on the rehabilitation of streets, rural roads, and the cleanup of ditches, grates, and sewers are enhancing the quality of life for Vallarta’s residents.

Crews from the Public Works Directorate have been actively working across various neighborhoods. Rehabilitation work was recently undertaken on streets in neighborhoods including Volcanes, Las Juntas, Las Palmas, and Ixtapa. Other neighborhoods like La Playita, Villa de Guadalupe, Los Agaves, Las Cañadas, and Laguna del Valle have also seen substantial improvements in road access.

The initiative has extended its reach to other areas of Vallarta, notably the San Nicolás, La Mina, Chula Vista, and Niños Héroes neighborhoods. In the heart of the city, work was carried out in front of the Guadalupe church, contributing to the revitalization of the city center.

With the rainy season approaching, the municipal government is focusing on preventive measures. This includes extensive cleaning and removing silt from the city’s canals, and intervening in areas prone to flooding. The Nuevo Ixtapa neighborhood, La Esperanza neighborhood, Prisciliano Sánchez Avenue, Las Juntas district, Libramiento Carretero, and the Vallarta 500 neighborhood were among the locations where canal cleanup took place.

Efforts were also made to maintain sewer systems in various neighborhoods such as Ixtapa, Aramara, Las Peñas, Mojoneras, and others. This extensive work aims to mitigate the risk of flooding and ensure the safety of the population.

Beyond the road and sewer work, the Public Works Department has also assisted with city cemeteries, carried out cleaning operations in public spaces, and repaired the grates of various storm drains. An approach to Poetas Avenue in the 12 de Octubre neighborhood was also built.

This substantial endeavor demonstrates the city’s commitment to ensuring Vallarta’s infrastructure is robust and reliable, promoting a better living environment for all of Vallarta’s citizens.
