Puerto Vallarta, Mexico – As the official tropical cyclone season concluded on November 30, residents and visitors of Puerto Vallarta can breathe a sigh of relief. The region successfully navigated a hurricane season without significant impacts, confirming predictions made by meteorologist Víctor Manuel Cornejo López.
“Fortunately, this year we experienced only some rain, cloudy days, and strong waves,” said Cornejo López. “No major effects were recorded in Puerto Vallarta and the Banderas Bay area during a season that saw 15 tropical cyclones in the Pacific.”
The Pacific hurricane season comprised 2 tropical depressions, 8 tropical storms, and 5 hurricanes. Despite the activity, none posed a substantial threat to the local coastline.
With the hurricane season behind them, Puerto Vallarta is now preparing for new weather patterns. “Starting this weekend, as cold front number eleven moves across the country, we’ll begin to see cool dawns with warm middays in our region,” Cornejo López explained. “December will bring chilly mornings followed by comfortably warm afternoons.”
The transition marks the arrival of phenomena such as frontal zones, jet streams, and anticyclones. Residents are advised to anticipate temperature fluctuations and adjust their activities accordingly.
The community remains optimistic about the seasonal change, embracing the cooler mornings while enjoying the warmth that midday brings. As winter approaches, Puerto Vallarta continues to be a haven for those seeking a mild and pleasant climate.
