Puerto Vallarta is gearing up for a bustling month as it prepares to receive 18 cruise ships throughout November, according to the schedule released by the Administration of the Puerto Vallarta National Port System (Asipona).
The arrivals kick off today, signaling the beginning of the high season for maritime visitors. Particularly busy days include November 7, 19, 21, 26, and 28, when the port will host two cruise ships simultaneously. These double arrivals are expected to significantly boost the local economy, bringing an influx of tourists eager to experience the city’s attractions.
To ensure a safe environment for both visitors and residents, Asipona has implemented health measures aimed at preventing the entry of African swine fever, screwworm infestations, and cases of measles and dengue fever. These precautions are in place to guarantee a secure and enjoyable stay for tourists and the smooth operation of tours.
According to the Federal Tourism Secretariat (Sectur), each cruise ship carries an average of 3,000 tourists and between 800 and 1,200 crew members. Visitors are estimated to spend approximately $900 during their stay, contributing substantially to the region’s tourism revenue.
Local businesses and tour operators are gearing up to accommodate the surge in visitors, offering a variety of activities and experiences that showcase the rich culture and natural beauty of Puerto Vallarta.
