Seapal Vallarta Hosts Twelfth Half Marathon and Twenty-Second Recreational Race

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico—Seapal Vallarta, in its continuous effort to promote sports and healthy living, is pleased to announce the upcoming twelfth edition of the Half Marathon and the twenty-second Recreational Race. Scheduled for Sunday, March 24, at 7:00 a.m., this anticipated event promises to bring together running enthusiasts from all walks of life.

The races will commence and conclude on the esplanade of the Agustín Flores Contreras Sports Unit, colloquially known as the “Stadium”. Participants can expect to navigate the central lanes of Francisco Medina Ascencio Boulevard, experiencing the scenic beauty of Puerto Vallarta as they compete.

Open to runners of every age, sports clubs, and the general public, the event is divided into two main competitions: the half marathon and the recreational race. Both categories have been structured to accommodate male and female participants, ensuring a broad inclusivity.

The 21-kilometer half marathon will feature various age-based categories including free (ages 18 to 39 years), masters (ages 40 to 49 years), and veterans (ages 50 and above). A special category titled ‘Vallarta Athlete’ has been established specifically for residents of Puerto Vallarta, showcasing local talent and community spirit.

Participants in the half marathon will incur a recovery cost, which includes a commemorative medal and a t-shirt, symbolizing their participation and achievement.

This year’s races are not just a celebration of physical endurance and sporting spirit; they also mark the culmination of the commemorative activities for World Water Day. Through this association, the events aim to raise awareness and foster a sense of responsibility towards water conservation and environmental stewardship.

Anticipation for the event is at an all-time high, with a record number of participants expected. The organizers have capped the total number of entries at 850, in a bid to exceed past participation rates and accommodate the growing interest in this significant sporting event.

With the combination of competitive spirit and environmental consciousness, the twelfth edition of the Half Marathon and the twenty-second Recreational Race by Seapal Vallarta is set to be a landmark event, fostering community involvement and promoting the importance of healthy living and water conservation.
