Sociedad Animal AC Launches “Esteribús” to Provide Free Sterilizations for Dogs and Cats in Puerto Vallarta

PUERTO VALLARTA, JALISCO — In a bid to address stray animal overpopulation and enhance animal welfare, the non-profit Sociedad Animal AC is converting a donated truck into the “Esteribús,” a mobile operating room that will travel throughout Puerto Vallarta to provide free sterilization services for dogs and cats.

Once operational, the Esteribús will function as a fully equipped mobile veterinary clinic, offering vital services to neighborhoods in need. By taking these campaigns directly into communities, Sociedad Animal AC hopes to curb rising cases of abandoned animals and, in turn, combat issues linked to public health and animal abuse.

The original vehicle was generously donated by Castores Canada. Since then, Eagle’s Wings Foundation and Puerto Vallarta Transportation have also joined forces to make this ambitious initiative a reality. With their combined support, the Esteribús is well on its way to being a game-changer for both animal welfare and public health in the region.

A Drive for Change
Sociedad Animal AC’s principal objective with the Esteribús is to deliver continuous sterilization campaigns free of charge, effectively reducing the overpopulation of stray cats and dogs. By promoting responsible pet ownership, the organization aims to create a safer, healthier environment for both animals and families, with a lasting effect on the community’s well-being.

To cover the expenses of equipping and renovating the mobile operating room, Sociedad Animal AC has opened a dedicated donation channel. Supporters can contribute to this cause via:

Community Fundraiser
To rally additional support and secure the remaining funds needed to launch the Esteribús, Sociedad Animal AC will host a charity fair on Thursday, May 29, at Jardín Terranoble. This event aims to bring the community together in support of the mobile clinic’s final stages of development, with activities and entertainment designed to delight attendees while spotlighting the Esteribús project’s impact.

“We invite everyone to participate in making a tangible difference for the animals that share our streets,” said a spokesperson for Sociedad Animal AC. “Through donations and coming together at the upcoming fair, we can foster a culture that respects and cares for all living beings.”
