With a festive night full of joy and music, close to 30,000 Vallarta residents and tourists fully resumed the traditional New Year festivities on the Malecón and the Romantic Zone, after the multiple restrictions due to Covid-19 in recent years.
An entertainment stage was set up on Calle Morelos, next to the Plaza de Armas, where the festival began with the presentation of the singer Samaniega, followed by Los Tres del Ranchito, Griz MX, and Grupo Zafiro.
Minutes before midnight, Puerto Vallarta’s mayor and wife, as well as councilors and directors, gave an emotional message, a good moment to reflect on everything that has been experienced during the past year.
“This year we have worked hard to reactivate the economy of Puerto Vallarta and just a few weeks ago we broke the Guinness Record with the monumental catrina, as far as tourism is concerned, in 2022 we reached seven and a half million national tourists, and six million foreigners, we broke records. This is to improve the economy of all Vallartans since the resources reach the hotels, the restaurants, the retailers, the housekeepers, everyone, everyone in their area,” he said.

“As City Hall, this 2023 we will continue working so that the economy of Puerto Vallarta continues to grow. Thank God for this 2022 that allowed us to go out and 2023 is full of prosperity for each of us. Congratulations to all!” said the mayor in closing.
After that, the countdown began to start the New Year, and the sky and the Puerto Vallarta Malecón lit up with the fireworks show, which was enjoyed by locals and tourists to welcome 2023.
Then the music continued, to the sound of different rhythms, and the crowd of Vallartans and tourists resumed dancing in the heart of Puerto Vallarta.
To guarantee the order and safety of the people in these festivities, the Citizen Security, Municipal Roads and Civil Protection and Firefighters operation was available, whose elements were at all times attentive to any eventuality that might arise.
