Puerto Vallarta Welcomes a Promising Start to the Year with Increased Cruise Ship Arrivals

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico – In a positive turn of events for the international tourist cruise segment, Puerto Vallarta is off to a strong start in the month of January, with a total of 27 cruise ship arrivals scheduled. Notably, this Thursday marks the third consecutive day of double arrivals, signaling an encouraging trend for the region.

Information released by the Administration of the National Port System (Asipona) reveals that a total of nine double arrivals are anticipated throughout the month. This week has particularly stood out, with double arrivals on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.

On the 2nd of January, the Navigator of the Seas and Seven Seas Grandeur graced the port. On the 3rd, it was the turn of the Discovery Princess and Norwegian Bliss. This Thursday, the 4th, saw the arrival of the Carnival Panorama and Emerald Princess. Tomorrow, two National Geographic ships, the Sea Lion and Sea Bird, are set to dock in Puerto Vallarta.

Looking ahead, the second week of January will see a decrease in arrivals, with only three scheduled, as the Carnival Panorama will not be making an appearance. However, the third week will once again feature double arrivals on Monday and Tuesday, with another double arrival planned for the fourth week. The grand closing of the month is set for Tuesday, January 30th, and Wednesday, January 31st, with additional double arrivals.

The diverse lineup of cruise ships in January’s program includes the Artania, operated by Artania Shipping, boasting a capacity for nearly 1,200 passengers. Additionally, the Borealis, a medium-sized vessel from Fred Olsen Cruise Lines with a passenger capacity of 1,400, is set to visit Puerto Vallarta.

In other noteworthy news, Asipona recently conducted the protocol act of delivery-reception for the Resolution of Total Transfer of Rights of the San Blas Marina Concession Title in favor of the Administrations of the Puerto Vallarta National Port System. High Captain Marissa Abarca Hernández, Abigail Díaz de León, and Retired Admiral Víctor Francisco Uribe Arévalo, director of ASIPONA Vallarta, joined Elizabeth García Duarte in participating in this significant event.

The increased cruise ship arrivals in January bode well for Puerto Vallarta’s tourism industry and underscore the city’s allure as a top destination for international travelers, particularly those from the United States and Canada living in Mexico. With a vibrant array of activities and attractions, Puerto Vallarta continues to captivate visitors from around the world.
