Western Real Estate Congress Inaugurated in Jalisco: New Law to Boost Confidence in Real Estate Transactions

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico – The Western Real Estate Congress kicked off this morning at the Conjunto Santander, attracting specialists, entrepreneurs, and investors from across the region. This significant event, organized by the Real Estate Section of the Guadalajara Chamber of Commerce in collaboration with Movimiento Inmobiliario de Occidente, AC (MIO), and Profesionales en Asesoría Inmobiliaria y Similares (PAIS), aims to foster opportunities, knowledge, and networking among real estate professionals.

The congress was inaugurated with a focus on the recently approved Law for the Registration and Accreditation of Real Estate Service Providers in Jalisco, which was passed in August. This law is set to provide increased certainty and confidence in real estate transactions across the state.

Enrique Bermúdez Monroy, the coordinator of the Real Estate Section of the Guadalajara Chamber of Commerce, emphasized the importance of the event in leveraging technology, expert content, and insightful talks to enhance the real estate sector. Key figures in the industry, such as Tonatiuh Ramírez Merchant, President of MIO, and Juan F. Flores Baeza, President of PAIS, were present to share their expertise and insights.

Alfonso Elorriaga González, a representative of the State Government, highlighted the efforts made in developing a real estate license for the sector. “The Executive and Legislative branches of Jalisco have taken a crucial step with the recent creation of the Law, which establishes the registry of real estate service providers in the state of Jalisco,” he remarked.

Elorriaga González stressed that this legal framework aims to uphold the values of excellence, transparency, responsibility, and professionalism within the sector. “This law, centered on establishing a state registry of real estate service providers, seeks to ensure the security and transparency of transactions conducted by both providers and citizens,” he explained.

He further elaborated on the necessity of having qualified individuals who adhere to regulations and possess comprehensive knowledge in administrative, legal, and financial aspects to offer specialized advice. “The central idea of the law is to build trust on both sides of the equation: ensuring that experts are professional and ethical, and that citizens can rely on the services provided,” he concluded.

The Western Real Estate Congress features a variety of sessions on business, economics, administration, and proven business models. Attendees are given the opportunity to gain valuable insights and build relationships that can drive the real estate sector forward. With the new law in place, the event marks a significant milestone in enhancing the professionalism and reliability of real estate services in Jalisco.
